Fire Pit

This might be my favorite area- I love it!

Grass area next to the fire pit...

Turning the corner and looking towards our side yard and fence that hides the pool equipment...

Balls!

They installed the concrete balls on the fire pit pillars- I love them! We also got 2/3 of the cushions (apparently there was a bit of a misunderstanding as to how many cushions we need).

Cabana

The cabana is finally getting done! The posts are finished and ready to be painted...

And the back wall is done and ready to be painted- they did such a great job with the paneling!

Balls and Covers

The concrete balls for the firepit pillars finally arrived but still need to be installed...

And the automatic pool cover is going in...

A White Wall

I don't think the photos do it justice, but painting the ugly brown wall white has made a HUGE difference! It looks a million times better!

We Have a Pool!!

Unfortunately, the pool guy said we can't use it for 2-3 weeks! Waaaaah!

Almost to the Finish Line!

We are so close, and everything is going so fast now!

They got the brick on the kitchen/bar...

They plastered the pool today...
And it's already being filled with water!

And the landscaping is going in...

Lots Happening

Since we are trying to get the pool inspection on Thursday, they had to build our gates today. One on the front of the house and one to hide the pool equipment (they still need to be painted)...

They installed the track for the pool cover...

Our cabana ceiling planks were delivered...

And we have the kitchen counter forms all ready for the concrete pour!

Lights, Wiring, Action

We have the cabana all wired for lights, outlets, heaters and tvs...now the wall and ceiling can go up!

The kitchen/bar is coming along, but looks more like a hat and drink rack right now. ;)

Our contractor figured out where all the appliances will go...
Starting on the left it's the two drawer fridge, regular fridge, grill, sink/cooler and ice machine.

And they continue to work on the brick (this brick has been quite the process! I wasn't happy with it so they had to sand it down and start over!!).

The Stage

Since the fire pit area is raised with steps, the kids think it's a stage! And even better are the two raised tables on the benches. So when I walked outside, I found them doing the whip and nae nae like this...
It doesn't look like it, but we are getting close. The brick still needs to be treated to make it lighter, and the bench will be regular cement color- the white is just a treatment they put it on it. And of course we need trees, lots of them, to cover up the hideous block wall. I'm told this will all be completed within the next few weeks!

We made the final decisions yesterday (appliances, lighting, tree/shrub selection, ground cover, etc.), and our contractor says everything goes fast now!

The water line tile is in. It looks boring, but I love it.

The Start of a Fire Pit

We have the start of a fire pit and a portion of the pillars...

Here is our outdoor kitchen...

My favorite of the three pool tile samples he brought over- I want it to blend into the plaster...

The Final Concrete Pour

The guys worked 7 days this week so that they could complete all the concrete!

We have more pavers around the pool (these will also be surrounded by brick)...
A floor in the cabana!

A footing for the outdoor kitchen/bar...

And stairs/floor for the fire pit area!
On either side of the stairs will be pillars made of brick.

Forms

We have more concrete forms, but nothing exciting. It seems like a lot is waiting on this next concrete pour, and I have no idea when that's happening because we couldn't decide on a kitchen layout so that's not even formed yet.
The fire pit seating looks basically done, I think?

We have the coping and deck jets all set, and the brick is grouted...
